Jessie Foakes was born and raised in Essex although she wouldn’t describe herself as “a typical Essex girl” – having only recently moved out of her van which she spent the last year living in.

Now as a newly signed artist to leading fine art publisher Buckingham Fine Art, Jessie paints from her studio in London to create these vibrant original pieces that are creating a huge impact in the art world.

Originally a popular tattoo artist, it was during the first lockdown period that Jessie picked up her paint brushes to reignite her creative passion and transition from skin to canvas! She set herself a target of breaking into the art world in 2021, with her debut collection of pop art inspired still life Jessie has certainly done just that!

She continues to experiment and evolve her creative practice every day, with new subject matter, colours and themes. Jessie says, “I’m used to working in a kind of here-and-there style, and I guess that’s how I paint. I love working with something super obvious and changing it into how I see it... a change here and there... see how we go. I use anything to paint with; rulers seem to be a go-to at the moment but just about anything I can get my hands on really; snapped bits of wood, palette knives , pens , spray paint…”
